Hello, Darling!

Hi Darling!

Welcome to my first blog post! I thought I’d start by sharing a little about me. For those of you who don’t already know me, my name is Katrin. I’m a native Chicagoan living in SoCal. I’m a thirty-two-year-old wife to my incredible husband Phil and mom to our sweet children, Evelyn [17 mo.] and Noah [4 mo.], who some might consider twins! We also have a Goldendoodle named Jax after country artist Alan Jackson.

I’m originally from a small town called Flossmoor which is a suburb of Chicago. I attended Miami University of Ohio (not to be confused with Florida!) where I achieved my bachelor’s degree in Accounting. I moved to SoCal to start my career at cabi, a women’s clothing company, as a Consultant Account Manager and later landed on their Field Analytics Team as a Data Analyst. I was also a women’s clothing Stylist for cabi.

And just when I thought it was time to move back to the good ‘ole Midwest, I met my husband in California…the rest is history! Phil and I welcomed our little girl, Evelyn, into the world in January 2019. When my maternity leave came to an end, I realized I wasn’t ready to jump back into my corporate job. I made a career change to become a stay-at-home mom, a job I had always dreamed of. However, I quickly realized I needed something more both financially and for my own personal growth. This is when Style Me Darling evolved which was originally personal styling and closet audits. I later joined the women’s Styling Team at Stitch Fix in October 2019 and Phil and I welcomed our little boy, Noah, into the world in February 2020.

Recently, I was let go from Stitch Fix along with the rest of the California Styling Team as Stitch Fix is moving their hub outside of California. And this takes me to the start of my lifestyle blog. For those that know me, you may be thinking “she’s a blogger?”. I’m probably not your typical blogger, I am an introverted extrovert who loves fashion, photography, and my family (not necessarily in that order -haha). I’d like to share all the above and a little bit of this and that. I hope to provide outfit inspiration, share favorites, good finds, and organizational tips, and support my fellow mamas out there. A little more about me…I have a weakness for dessert, I love my wine, I am very much OCD, a lover of lists and Excel, I get upset when my house is not clean or in order, you better believe my closet is coordinated by color and like items, and I have an organization system in place for just about everything. I am a mom of two under the age of two and married to a first responder, so I am looking forward to creating a fun outlet and getting to know you! I’m not perfect, this blog won’t be perfect, all opinions are my own, and I appreciate your support as I start my new hobby. Talk to you soon!
